Most toys use 'additives' or plasticizers to make them strong, but those extra chemicals make the plastic hard to recycle later. We took a different path. We use Clean Design—relying on the physical geometry and engineering of my shell to give me strength. This keeps our materials pure, safe for your little musician to touch, and easy for us to 'remix' into new toys later.

Why a 9V battery instead of a built-in charger? Professional gear is built to be serviced! Built-in batteries eventually get tired and can't be replaced, which sends the whole toy to the landfill. By using a swappable 9V, we ensure I can keep performing for decades. Plus, it’s much easier to recycle standard batteries through existing e-waste programs than it is to recycle a 'bricked' toy. Over here, we believe it’s important to look at the full picture rather than one detail. 

My insides are just as thoughtful as my outsides. I’m designed to be easily serviced by the Little Squiggle team, so if a 'string breaks' or a button gets sticky, we can fix me up with a brand-new part instead of making a brand-new set

• Why Plastics? Plastics aren't the villain; the system they’re a part of is just broken! Plastic is durable, lightweight, and safe for toddlers. By creating a circular plan where we own the material from start to finish, we turn plastic into a permanent resource instead of a footprint.
• Why Electronics? Interactive, musical play is a powerhouse for child development. We saw an industry that needed a sustainability boost and decided to tackle the hardest category—plastic electronic toys—head-on.
• Is it 100% Zero-Waste? Not yet, but you can bet we’re doing as much as we can. While our nitty-gritty details (like internal cables) are still the industry standard, we are committed to being transparent as we innovate. We’re getting the basics right first so we can tackle the rest as we grow.
